This book is a collection of long forgotten letters and twenty new poems. The letters were found in a briefcase not opened for fifty years and the poems were penned as commentary on the lost letters. Friends, fellow climbers, acquaintances and lovers wrote their stories, they put the author's life in context, and painted a picture in the time of revolution a half a century ago. They tell the tale of the "movement" that only the youth could understand. They speak to the liberation of women, the fight against discrimination, and resistance to the Vietnam war. With the backdrop of Yosemite and the High Sierra, the stories of those eventful days take on a different perspective. Eastern philosophy was challenging old spiritual norms and the natural splendor of Yosemite added fuel to the fire of change. A generation was discovering the magic alive in nature. This slim volume serves as witness to the dreams of the awakening of youth. Many of those dreams have grown, flourished, and are today accepted. In those days, they were as fresh as the mist blowing from Bridalveil Falls and as fragile as a morning with new snow covering the trees of Yosemite Valley.
