Our bad thinking has undermined the political, economic, social & spiritual structures on which our children will have to build their future. Americans are in a 3-way gridlock between: - Proponents of coercive & collective salvation; - Defenders of the status quo; - Believers in the power of freedom & innovation. For American society to survive, the gridlock must be broken & broken in the correct direction. Thinking must replace reacting; honest words must be found, hard questions asked, & stories must be correlated with reality. This book is not a call to arms -- that has been thoroughly done by others. Nor is it a tidy set of solutions -- the situation is too far gone for that. This brief work is an exercise in correcting our mental models, & aligning our communication with those models, so that we can together restore the vital structures & give our children a future of possibilities instead of a legacy of regrets.
