This is a 17,000 word history of America in time of Benjamin Harrison. He was the grandson of William Henry Harrison, and his time was part of the so-called Gilded Age. Harrison had a fairly smooth ride, but there was plenty of labor unrest, and he almost went to war with Germany over Samoa, and also had a war scare with Chile over a brawl at the True Blue Saloon in Valapariso. These are the basics, told with clarity and a touch of humor.
