From here they tend to protect their English boarder from attack.They sent word for the Laird to surrender, and in doing so, the promise would be no bloodshed. They would allow the family and staff to leave with no consequences.The Laird of the Clan McMichael said no.Cliff Castle is now preparing to fight. All their people, clan families have been rounded up and brought inside the walls for protection. Safety is a priority. Those that wanted to leave, left. But most of them stayed.
