Reseña del libro "Preliminary Risk Analysis and Work Instructions"
A problem presented by many small companies is related to lack of knowledge or negligence regarding safety regulations. An example of a small company that has this difficulty is the furniture industry, known as carpentry. In most Brazilian carpentry shops, the machines used are in poor condition, and the employees who operate them are not qualified or trained to do so. This work is a case study in a small joinery in the city of Campina Grande (PB), and its objective is to develop a Preliminary Risk Analysis (PRA) for four activities, which are: loading of materials, and use of the machines circular saw bench, band saw and straightener. Based on the APRs, the corresponding Work Instructions (TI) were also developed for each activity analyzed. The study was developed based on the Regulatory Norms of the Ministry of Labor and Employment that contemplate the activities of the study. The analyses showed unusual risks for the three machines studied, the main ones being: ergonomic risks, noise, dust and risk of accidents with cuts and/or amputations.
