An autobiographical journey begins from a council house vegetable plot in an Essex market town close to London's East End in the early 1950's. it is a funny, magical and tragic road story about movement, boxing clever, escape, fairgrounds, art, music, dogs, grief and motorcycles but above all self expression in love and loving what you do. Some of it takes place on three long road trips across the USA where the author lived for twelve years - plus Europe, New Zealand and Australia. The pendulum swings from high to deep as the story is told from an art studio home in Spain. The book is not so much about rum experiences than new beginnings waiting patiently in the wings for us all. A heroine appears early and will pull the reader like a magnet through the loopy passages that orbit sixty one years. For the spiritually inclined there is much to be read between the lines and for others possibly an enlightening flicker as the amusement lights are turned on. At the end after an entertaining read which will bring tears of both kinds there is something else - waiting to leave the reader with a satisfying sigh and a warm heart.
