Whether in agriculture, food, health, textiles, the energy sector ... chemistry is present, since the mid-twentieth century, at all levels of everyday life. However, today we are facing a constant increase in temperatures on Earth, and unprecedented pollution of the soil, air and oceans. Thus, the urgency to find alternatives to the operating conditions in the synthetic chemistry sector pushed us to imagine how photochromic molecules could fit perfectly into the concept of Sustainable Development.
