She is drawn into the intricacies of the lives of the ten dysfunctional families who live along her dead end lane in a forested part of Eugene, Oregon, and feels compelled to help them. But her attempts to improve their lives push strained relationships in unexpected directions and cause a cascade of consequences. Moon Babies occurs between the spring and fall equinoxes and weaves folk beliefs about the moon into neighborhood lives. Under the moon's soft glow reality shifts and shimmers, and guilt has no place.
