He knew he would do something great, but he didn't know he would befriend a dog, a monkey, and a pheasant. And then fight a giant ogre, and rescue children and return home a hero. As a true hero, he doesn't fight the villain because he hates the villain. He simply fights the chaos, and attempts to rescue the villain to return to his more nobler self by bringing in light and order.
