The Congolese legislator has devoted a considerable number of provisions in the Congolese mining code to incriminations, with the main aim of setting up a more dissuasive system through the application of the penalties provided for these incriminations. Moreover, mining law as a whole is seen as a technical and complex subject, which is why mining law remains less well known or poorly understood.
