Reseña del libro "Mi Sista (en Inglés)"
Isis and her sisters are uprooted from Jamaica and relocated to Stamford, Connecticut when the political climate erupts on her island paradise. Isis is immediately propelled into unfamiliar territory where she struggles to fit in. She grows up in Stamford and becomes a doctor. While rounding at the hospital Isis recognizes Kobin, a male patient she met several months ago. Kobin's daughter is at-risk of being placed into foster care and Isis volunteers to take his daughter while he recovers. When Kobin is released from the hospital he invites Isis for dinner to repay her for her generosity. Kobin rejects her advances and Isis is confused because she assumed the attraction was mutual. Isis faces other challenges and she is overwhelmed with life's tragedies. "Things fall apart, the centre cannot hold." The bottom was falling out from underneath the St. James' family and she didn't know how to fix it. During the tragedies and heartbreaks, Isis finds strength in the relationship with her sisters. Mi Sista is the one Jamaican phrase the sisters had held on to over the years to remind them of their roots and their connection to each other.
