Reseña del libro "Grains of Sand: Poetry by the sea (en Inglés)"
The title, "Grains of Sand," is comparable in quality and an obvious play on the same wide ranging poetry of classical rhyme and meter as "Leaves of Grass," by Walt Whitman. Section I is ten poems giving life skills advice, analyzes the State of the Union Message by Trump in 2018, and concludes with the comical version of why some Valentines won't sell. Section II contains Romantic Poetry with several World Class Sonnets comparable to William Shakespeare's, some with the Peterson Permutation, my own rhyme scheme. Section III is a wide range of subjects from the moody "Watching an Hourglass," and "Poet's Soul with Artful Pen," to "My Alternate Universe with the Never-Ending Kiss," to Kissing Elly May of the Beverly Hillbillies. Section IV contains Western and Pirate Stories in Poetic form. Section V discusses my Muse, "Where Have all the Cowboys Gone," and "How the Universe Resets Its Clocks." Section VI has funny IRS deductions, Norwegian food delicacy lutefisk and lefse explained, "Happy Birthday to a Yellow Rose," and a careful recounting in poetic form of "Romeo and Juliet." "My Mother Sang to Me," is the author's plaintive poem of the world class operatic voice of his mother and how he would love to hear her sing again. Sections VII and VIII are primarily political criticism, especially of left-wing harbingers and their mischief, insane political participants on State and National Stages, and slams the wealthy who support social upheaval. Section IX invents a new legend named, "Mountain Man Mike," who like Pecos Bill, can be a wonderful children's story of mythical proportions. It also includes, "I Want to Live in Aspen," and "Olympic Figure Skaters." Section X is a set of 10 previously popular poems revised and updated.
