Reseña del libro "A Testimony of Jesus: 1 & 2 Kings (Thy Throne Forever II) (en Inglés)"
And so, after King David was dead and buried with his ancestors, Solomon the son of David and Bathsheba was in place of David on the eternal throne God promised in 2 Samuel Chapter 7. However, before the death of David, much contention arose because another of David's son's (Adonijah) took upon himself a claim to the throne without having consulted David, his father! This is where the first (1st) Chapter of first (1st) Kings begins. According to 2 Samuel Chapter 15 through 18) even another of David's sons (Absalom) made an earlier attempt of a similar coup d'etat (or take over) of the throne! Absalom was killed as a result of the events that unfolded, because of his efforts to "steal the throne". Although, during the latter days of his reign, Solomon turned away from the LORD God unto false gods and idol worship; causing the people to error even more. However, God did not take the throne from Solomon for the sake of David, his father. But after Solomon died, God separated the nation unto preparation for destruction (and\ or punishments)! A majority of the tribes of Israel were allied in the North, and became Ephram\ Samaria. The remaining one (1) or two (2) tribes along side Judah formed the Nation "Judah of Israel" in the South; and thus, the throne of David remained with Judah, just as the LORD God had promised! Then about 722 B.C. the LORD God allowed the Northern Kingdom of Israel to be destroyed by the Assyrians. Then, one hundred thirty six (136) years later (in 586 B.C.) the LORD allowed the Babylonians to destroy Judah; Jerusalem; and the Temple Solomon built. The Northern Kingdom; Ephram, or Samaria never recovered as a nation. But Judah (a remnant) of Israel only remained in exile from the land 70 years; then the LORD God brought them back and established them a nation in their land again!
