Reseña del libro "Cassie and Caine: When pasts collide"
It was then that the two prisoners got their first good look at each other. Both of them gave a shocked gasp and stared at each other through the wall of Perspex. Ten years is a long time not to see someone face-to-face...and people's appearances can change quite a bit over the years. The Professor noted Cassie's startled expression change to one of eventual recognition without even realising she was seeing the exact same reaction from him. Her appearance was somewhat dishevelled, with a face that seemed gaunt and white...she looked tired, maybe even a little ill. The drugs they'd injected into her earlier had taken their toll somewhat. He wasn't looking that much better what with having been drugged, dragged through a maze of corridors, viciously beaten and then thrown bodily into a cell. Even now a speck of dried blood was visible where his lip had been cut and the area around his left eye was showing signs of becoming badly bruised...a real 'shiner'. Instinctively, almost in tandem, both of them raised a hand towards the other almost in sheer disbelief at what they were seeing...only for the warmth of human contact to be denied by the harsh, cold reality of the unfeeling wall of Perspex that came between them. At that exact moment in time a voice boomed into the cells via a set of hidden wall-mounted speakers. "Good evening Miss Cassie and Professor Caine...or perhaps I should say 'Test Subjects A and B'?"
